Pastor Chris has served as senior pastor of New Salem Church since 2003. He has earned a BA in Biblical studies from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA and an MA in Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC.
Pastor Chris is originally from Steubenville, OH. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and served four years. He continued his service in the Army National Guard for two years while studying at Liberty University. It wasn’t until after his time in the Navy that Chris desired to go into the Ministry and accept the call of God in his life.

What brought Pastor Chris to the ministry? A desire to teach the Bible to people and to glorify God in that endeavor.
Youth Pastor/Director of Worship and Music
Pastor Bill Kolb was hired as the new Youth Pastor of New Salem Church in 2014. He was raised in northern New Jersey, but as been in North Carolina since 1997. He has been a Youth Pastor in California and North Carolina for the last 20 years. He currently lives in Pittsboro with his wife, Betsy and their two boys, Joshua and Caleb.
He attended the Baptist Bible Seminary and College in Clarks Summit, PA and received his Bachelor of Science in Bible/Pastoral Studies. He was the Youth Pastor and Worship Minister of Emmaus Baptist Church from 1998 to 2013. He also served as Youth Pastor, Bible Teacher, and Worship Leader for the Bethel Baptist Church in Lancaster, California.

Children’s Ministry Leader
Erica is from and lives in Bear Creek with her husband, Sammy and daughter, Cheyenne.
She received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from CCCC. She is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree and Birth-Kindergarten Licensure from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She has always worked with children, often helping in the nursery at church in her younger days. She got her first job in childcare center while in high school.
She has been a member of New Salem Church for over 3 years and has participated in the nursery, and provided childcare or various activities.
Cindy has worked with New Salem since May 2015. She has an Associate Degree in Early Childhood. She likes contemporary Christian music, animals (has 6 cats), Italian food and is currently reading the book Source of My Strength by Charles Stanley.
