Our Ministries in the Church

Wednesday Night Service

Beginning Wednesday September 6th Pastor Chris will begin a study in the Book of Hosea. Study begins at 6:45pm.

Kingdom Kids Program

On Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, New Salem’s Children are involved in biblical lessons that teach children about Jesus and His life. The children learn how to see Jesus in the world around us, how to help others, serve others, and apply biblical teachings to their everyday lives through lessons and hands-on activities.

Student/Teen Ministry

Children ages 12 and over (Grades 7th – 12th)
We teach the Bible in ways that young people can understand, and help them to apply it to their everyday lives. We ask a lot of questions and present current issues to get them thinking of how the Christian worldview fits in the world around them. This is a fun and interactive program, where young people have a great time as well as learn.

Student/Teen Ministry meets at 6:45pm on Wednesday nights. Student Ministry services are led by Bill Kolb, our Youth/Music Minister.

Music Ministry

New Salem offers several music programs: Adult Choir, Praise and Worship Team, and Children’s Choir

Tuesday Morning Prayer Group – Meet from 9 to 10 am on Tuesdays

Our Tuesday Morning Prayer Group has a short devotional on prayer first, and then we go to God in prayer for all the requests our church has received either through the church service or emailed into us.

Our Ministries in the Community

We do several outreach activities and events throughout the year that help us spread the Good News of Jesus and give back to the community in general. A few of these activities are: Nursing Home Singing, Oil Changes for the Community, Stocking Stuffers for Christmas, Meals for the Hungry, Coats for the City, Trunk or Treat and Bonfire, Building Projects, Toys for Tots, and VBS for kids.

New Salem Church also has a diaper ministry to assist needy families in Chatham County. If you need diapers for a baby/toddler, please call the church (919-542-4832).

Diapers are distributed on Tuesdays from 9:00am – 5:00 pm. (Location – 5030 Old Graham Rd., Pittsboro)

Our Ministries in the World

New Salem is very involved with domestic and foreign missions. We support a variety of mission organizations that we believe are doing a great job of spreading the Gospel and ministering to people who need care. One of the biggest missions that we participate and support is the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. We try to get our whole church involved in packing shoe boxes that are then transferred overseas to people who might not have as much as we have in America, as well getting a chance to communicate the Gospel to them.

Other missions in which that we give and participate are The Master’s Academy International (TMAI), Anchored in Truth Church Plants, Young Life, Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon Missions, Pennies for Hunger, The Baptist Children and Retirement Homes, Trans World Radio, Egypt Missions and others.
