God's Word is ministered in a life changing way for the purpose of convicting, comforting,
correcting, compelling, and challenging the hearts of God's people to live victoriously in the will
of God.
Wednesday 6:45pm
Our desire is to help bring about the continued growth and discovery for every believer through
in-depth Bible Study. Insight and guidance are gained by each believer. The Word is offered so
that every believer may discover their place in the family of God, and be thoroughly equipped for
every good work (2 Timothy 3:17)
Wednesday night dinner at 6:00pm
CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES - "Bible Buddies"
Our children's ministry is one of the largest ministries in our church. It's a time for children to
learn and experience God's grace and love each week. Our volunteers make this ministry
special to each child attending. We strive to create a caring environment where each child can
feel safe and welcomed with open arms!
It is our desire for you to enjoy and participate in our worship services, knowing that loving care
is provided for your child. We offer nursery care for children from birth through 2 years of age
during Sunday Morning Worship and Wednesday night Bible study.
Bible Buddies
It is our desire for children to enter a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ. To accomplish
this purpose we offer classes where children are taught and nurtured through Bible stories, craft
activities, and music. There are three classes offered at
11:15am on Sundays.
Class I: 3-5 year old children
Class II: 6-7 year old children
Class III: 8-9 year old children
Children ages 10 up are encouraged to remain in church for worship.
Wednesday Night Bible Buddies
There is an exciting Bible Study hour at 6:45pm for Bible Buddies ages 3-12. The children
participate in Bible Stories, activities and music planned specifically for their age groups.
Girls' Club
This ministry is available for all girls and their friends. It is a time for fellowship in a caring
environment and to learn about God's love for them.
YOUTH MINISTRIES- "CHIEFS"
Our "CHIEFS" program (Christ, Honor, Instruction, Evangelism, Fellowship, Serve) is for
teenagers. This program in Scripture and Service focuses on life applications of Bible lessons as
well as community projects. This ministry helps our youth realize God's power and strength to
meet the challenges in their lives. The class meets at the church at 6:45pm on Wednesday
nights.
ADULT MINISTRIES
Women's Bible Study
The women of New Salem Church meet each Sunday before worship to study God's Word and to
have fellowship with other believers.
Recovery Class
Meets each Sunday evening at 6:30pm not only for those who are facing alcoholism, divorce,
sexual abuse, sexual addiction, codependence, drug addiction, domestic violence, food
addiction, gambling addiction, but anyone suffering from hurts, hangups and habits that are
controlling their life. Wesley Thomas and Lynne Dyer are leading this program. Everyone is
welcome.
DivorceCare
Meets each Monday evening at 7:00pm. This program gives you an opportunity to meet with
others who are facing the same problems and situation, to encourage you and let you know that
you are not alone. Randy and Angela Baker lead this program. For a list of topics covered in

MINISTRIES OF SERVICE AND CARE
It is not the purpose of believers to occupy seats in a building, but rather to worship God, grow in
Christ, nurture one another in life, reach out to the lost, and be equipped to serve.
Greeters
It is our desire to prove a place of warmth, peace of mind and friendliness. The greeters play a
very important role in helping us provide such a place. Our greeters are available to provide
assistance and information to anyone worshipping at New Salem.
Technicians and Engineers
This is a very important ministry that involves the care of our church facilities. this team works
together to make each worship experience the best possible for all individuals.
The Powerpoint/Sound Technicians are responsible for running the computer/ soundboard
during services.
21st Century Team
This team of insightful volunteers creates ways for New Salem Church to be relevant in today's
world, and to reach people for Christ today and in coming years.
Communion Committee
The group prepares our communion service on Sunday night each quarter of the year. The
prepare the communion bread, the fellowship meal, and set up for the service.
Church Bulletin Team
One of the biggest reflections (either positive or negative) of our church is the bulletin. This
team prepares the bulletins in a very neat and spiritually minded way for our church services.
Music
Our choir meets every Thursday evening for rehearsal. Our worship services are enhanced by
the music provided by our choir. We welcome new singers to join this dedicated group.
Special music to add to the praise of our Lord is provided by volunteer singers from New Salem
Church and guest musicians.
Special Events
These volunteers serve New Salem church by developing fundraising projects, planning for
special occasions during the year (Mother's Day/Father's Day, Homecoming Day, Old Rock
Springs Day, Christmas decorations).
Care Ministry
These dedicated volunteers prepare meals for families during times of need, funeral lunches, and
serve the church in the prayer chain ministry, hospital ministry, and in the flower/basket ministry.
Prayer Breakfast
Prayer breakfasts are scheduled throughout the year to bring believers together for a time of
fellowship and prayer.
Wednesday Night Supper
This group provides the fellowship meal before Wednesday night Bible Study, during fall winter
and spring months. Suppers are not provided during the summer.
Relay for Life
This team makes Relay for Life a ministry of our church by doing aggressive outreach with the
emphasis of reaching people for Christ through this event.

This team designs the website and keeps our site updated with current information. Please
